A rescue becomes a question about balance
A woodland glider is trapped beneath an overloaded branch. Removing the leaves seems obvious until they fly back into the canopy. The failed rescue reveals a deeper problem beneath the crew's feet.
The canopy is crowded, but the forest floor is bare and the lanterncap fungi are fading.
A hidden brass route marker is pulling fallen leaves back towards the branches.
When the habitat is restored, the marker sends a golden signal beyond the unfinished map.
