Ava Shares Her Blanket
Rick Allen
When it was story time, the classroom got quiet.
But Ava saw that Leo was shivering. He’d forgotten his sweater again. She looked down at her favorite blanket soft and purple with stars.
Usually, she kept it wrapped tightly around her. But today, she tapped Leo’s shoulder and whispered, “Want to share?” He nodded, eyes wide. They tucked the blanket around them, cozy and warm.
Miss Tara smiled from her chair. After the story, Leo whispered, “Thanks, Ava.” Ava smiled back. She felt something warm inside. Love isn’t just a feeling it’s something you do with your heart and hands.
