Whisper in the clearing

Dawn floats through the trees and settles like soft gold on the moss. Leafy hears a faint whistle in the upper branches. Max swoops low with feathers ruffled and eyes bright.

A sudden gust chased me off course he says. My delivery pouch is missing. Leafy lays a paw on the trunk and listens. The forest answers in little echoes. A ribbon snag rustles to the east.

A silver bell tinkles by the brook. A shy glow peeks from a hollow stump. Leafy breathes steady. We will find it together. The forest is kind when we are kind.
