Charlie's Bedtime I Love You
Rick Allen

As the nightlight cast a soft glow,

Charlie snuggled under his blanket after Dad read him his bedtime story.

“Daddy, why do you say ‘I love you’ every night?” he asked, his eyes curious.

Dad sat beside him, brushing a hand over Charlie’s hair. “Because I want you to know it every day.

No matter what happens, you’re my most important person.”

Charlie smiled. “Even when I’m messy?”

Dad chuckled. “Especially then.” Leaning down, Dad kissed his forehead. “Goodnight, Charlie. I love you.”

Charlie yawned, his heart full. “Love you too, Daddy.” The words floated between them, warm and unbreakable.

What We Learned

Charlie learns that love isn’t earned—it’s freely given every day, providing comfort and security no matter what.
