Bea grew up in the heart of Paddington, where her family taught her to notice every good thing, small and bright. Warm bread in the morning. A smile from a neighbour. A letter safely delivered. At the first village trade fair, she met Barnaby. His table was a jumble of jam jars. Instead of sighing, Bea thanked him for bringing such sweet treats, then helped him line each jar in neat rows. Barnaby never forgot her gentle thanks. Now they run the village shop together. Bea writes little notes of gratitude on paper slips and tucks them into baskets. She thanks children for helping carry bags. She thanks travellers for sharing stories. She thanks the rain for feeding the gardens and the lantern light for guiding friends home.
