Cordelia
Self Discipline
Cordelia the silver-grey cat with glasses and scrolls, symbol of self-discipline in children’s stories.

In the quiet nook of Paddington Village, tucked between the Library Tree and the Timebell Tower, lives Cordelia—the most punctual cat in all of Tiny Tales Land. From the moment she could walk, Cordelia showed an uncanny sense of order. As a kitten, she lined up her toys by size, colour-coded her bedtime stories, and never missed a mealtime—not even by a minute.

Cordelia wasn’t always the village’s planner. She learned self-discipline the hard way. One spring, she promised to help plant the garden festival flowers but got distracted by butterflies and biscuits. When the festival arrived, her patch was bare. The look on the disappointed faces of her friends stayed with her. That day, she vowed to change.

She began by setting little goals: finishing one scroll before playtime, practising her handwriting daily, and using her pocket watch to stick to a routine. Slowly, she became the one everyone trusted to get things done.

Now, she tracks moon phases, seasonal festivals, and even teatime birthdays.

Cordelia keeps a master checklist scroll that she unfurls every morning, ticking off everything from “deliver morning greetings” to “remind Jasper to blink during lectures.” Her magical pouch never loses a note, and when she touches a page with her paw, it glows gently—her way of staying mindful and focused.

Despite her structure, she’s warm and kind, always encouraging others to try again when they slip. Cordelia teaches that self-discipline isn’t about being strict—it’s about showing up, being kind to your future self, and remembering that even small habits shape big dreams.

Each evening, Cordelia climbs the steps of the Timebell Tower, rings the golden bell with one gentle paw, and whispers, “Well done, everyone. Let’s try again tomorrow.”
